May 15th-

Exhibit

Thank you to everyone who was able to come to the GCA Flower Show Friday and Saturday! The education exhibit was a great success and it was nice to see the paintings amongst the native vegetation. Hopefully the exhibit has helped to inspire people to protect the Carmel River Watershed and other riparian areas. After the exhibit the seven paintings were donated to the Hilton Bialek Habitat, an environmental education center located at Carmel Middle School which works to inspire local students to understand, appreciate, and protect the natural environment. Visit www.carmelhabitat.org for more information on how to get involved!

April 14th-

Visions Poster

For the past three months I have been working on some illustrations that will be featured in the upcoming "Visions 2011" major flower show presented jointly by the five bay area chapters of the Garden Club of America. The illustrations are seven large acrylic paintings showcasing the Carmel River Watershed from headwaters to ocean. They will be part of the education exhibit entitled "STREAMS, RIVER, OCEAN - NATURE'S ORDER." The exhibit will be held May 13th and 14th from 10 am-4 pm at the Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Admission is free and open to the public, so stop by to see the exhibit if you get a chance! I will be posting photos of the paintings here on the website after May 14th.

Ishi

January 19th-
I just finished the above painting for the San Francisco SPCA. The cat is named Ishi, and will appear in the winter SFSPCA 'Our Animals' newsletter. Ishi is looking for a home, so hopefully featuring him will help. Also, if someone decides to purchase the painting, 70% of the proceeds will go towards benefiting the SFSPCA. Art for a good cause! To learn more about the SFSPCA, visit their website at http://www.sfspca.org/

If you would like to see a larger image of Ishi and painting close-ups, visit my facebook page by clicking the facebook icon to the left...and thanks!

Gull T-Shirt for Sale!

Framed Microhabitat Women's T-Shirt

This past summer I created a new t-shirt for the Mono Lake Committee's Information Center and Bookstore. The illustration is of a California Gull "vacuuming" alkali flies into it's mouth, a specialized feeding behavior. The t-shirts are very lightweight cotton and come in both men's and women's styles. You can order shirts and find details at the Mono Lake Committee online store.

Here are a few more close-ups of the illustration:
