Logan ParsonsLogan Parsons was born and raised in Pacific Grove, California where she currently resides as a freelance artist and illustrator. She received her bachelor's degree in environmental science at Western Washington University and the following year obtained her graduate certificate in science illustration from the University of California Extension, Santa Cruz. Upon graduation she completed internships at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, PA and Scientific American magazine in New York City.

Nature has always been the primary influence in Logan's art; capturing the character of its many odd, funny, and beautiful organisms. She also holds a deep appreciation for designs and compositions (especially within the sciences) that successfully convey information while at the same time having an aesthetic appeal. Her skills have a wide variety of uses from creating fine art works for private commission to designing for publication to creating illustrations for researchers, parks, and wildlife centers.

So far, Logan's clients have included Scientific American magazine, UC Berkeley's College of Natural Resources, Annual Reviews and the Mono Lake Committee. Logan is currently planning to teach her first workshop in field sketching this coming May, 2008. Check the news section for updates.
